One email a month. It exists because most Calgary housing commentary is either a headline about “the market” that describes no actual neighbourhood, or a listing blast. This is neither.

You're on the list.

The next Calgary Housing Brief goes out after the CREB® monthly release, usually in the first week of the month. In the meantime, the research hub has everything we have published.

What this is not. It is not a daily listing feed, and it is not a drip campaign that starts calling you. If you would rather have new listings as they hit the market, a saved search does that job properly and this newsletter does not try to.

What's in it

What the numbers actually did

The month's CREB® benchmark and sales, and our own community-level medians — with the difference between the two spelled out rather than blurred.

Which communities moved

Where days-on-market, inventory and prices shifted most, drawn from the same dataset behind our neighbourhood research. Only where the sample supports it.

Detached vs condo

These two markets routinely move in opposite directions in Calgary. We report them separately, because one city-wide number describes almost nobody.

Where buyers gained or lost leverage

Months of supply by community and property type — the mechanism behind negotiating room, not a vibe about the market.

New research when we publish it

Neighbourhood reports, assessment analysis, affordability and market history — with the methodology attached.

The occasional useful thing

Assessment notices in January. Zoning changes that affect a community's redevelopment. Things worth a homeowner's five minutes.
