Located near the downtown core of Calgary, the community of Cliff Bungalow was founded in 1907. The community, which was originally owned by the Canadian Pacific Railway, has a rich history dating back to the 1870s. Today, the community is bounded on the north by 17 Avenue, to the south by Elbow River, to the east by 1 Street and Elbow River, and to the west by Royal Avenue and College Lane.
Thanks to the community's long history, it now offers a mixture of low level apartment buildings and older homes. As such, it is likely to have something to offer for virtually any budget or lifestyle need. At the same time, the community features a commercial district and it is located near to a variety of shopping facilities and restaurants. At the same time, thanks to the actions of the Cliff Bungalow-Mission community association, the community remains low density and restrictions have been put into place to prevent buildings from exceeding three stories in height. This has allowed the community to maintain a more natural and welcoming appearance. For the outdoor enthusiast, the community is also located conveniently near to Lindsay Park and Bow River.
Parents who are looking for homes for sale in the Cliff Bungalow community may attend one of two public elementary schools, Rideau Park or William Reid. William Reid offers a French Immersion program, as does the Catholic elementary school of Holy Name. Families with elementary-aged children may also choose to send their children to the Catholic school of St. Monica. Public junior high students may attend the public schools of Rideau Park or Elboya, with Elboya offering a French Immersion program. The community is also served by two Catholic junior high schools, St. Michael and St. Monica. Two high schools, the public Western Canada and the Catholic St. Mary's also serve the community, with Western Canada offering a French Immersion program. Show Less...
