Established in 1980, the community of Woodbine is part of the Woodcreek Community. The Woodcreek Community, which also includes the community of Woodlands, was established in 1980. The community immediately underwent extensive development. Today, the community is bound to the north by Anderson Road, to the south by Fish Creek Park, to the east by Canyon Meadows Golf Course and to the west by Tsuu Tina Reserve. Thanks to its location, residents enjoy easy access to the Downtown Calgary area as well as a number of recreational opportunities, such as those provided by the nearby Fish Creek Park and Glenmore Park.
In addition to being located near to the Downtown Calgary area and a number of recreational opportunities, the community of Woodbine is also served by an active community association. The community centre, which is capable of holding up to 170 people in the main hall, regularly hosts activities and groups such as Boy Scouts, Girl Guides, a seniors program, a karate club and the Bulldogs football program. The centre also features two paved skating rinks, tennis courts, several playing fields, a fitness centre, a dance studio and basketball nets.
Elementary-aged children whose parents are interested in homes for sale in the Woodbine community may attend the public schools of Woodbine or Chinook Park, with Chinook Park offering a French Immersion program.
