As one of two communities that comprise the Willowridge community, the Willow Park community is served along with the Maple Ridge community by the same community center. In all, the community center serves an area that is bound to the north by Southland Drive, to the south by Anderson Road, to the east by Deerfoot Trail and to the west by Macleod Trail. Established in 1965, the Willow Park community is bordered by Southland Drive to the North, Anderson Road to the south, Acadia Drive to the east and Macleod Trail to west.
Thanks to the location of the Willow Park community, residents enjoy access to a variety of commercial and recreational facilities. Some of these include Southland Mall, the Bow River Valley, the Family Leisure Centre, the Fish Creek Provincial Park and the city's pathway system. The community is also served by an active community association, which offers a variety of programming options for residents to enjoy. Some of these include yoga, dog obedience training, seniors activities, Cubs, Brownies and soccer. Residents also enjoy access to recreational facilities such as tennis courts and a skating rink.
Children whose parents are interested in homes for sale in the Willow Park community may attend the public elementary schools of R.T. Alderman, Maple Ridge and Sam Livingston or the Catholic elementary schools of St. William and St. Cecilia. Both Sam Livingston and St. Cecilia offer French Immersion programs. Maple Ridge is unique in that it serves only kindergarten through fourth grade students, while R.T. Alderman serves only fifth and sixth grade students. Junior high schools serving the Willow Park community include the public schools of R.T. Alderman and Fairview and the Catholic schools of St. Bonaventure and Ecole St. Matthew. Both Fairview and Ecole St. Matthew offer French Immersion programs. The Willow Park community is also served by the public high schools of Lord Beaverbrook and Dr. E.P. Scarlette, the latter of which is served by a French Immersion program, and the Catholic school of Bishop Grandin. Show Less...
