Calgary West, known for its brand new modern suburban homes in a developing district that’s relatively close to city centre. The districts known as Wentworth and West Grove Estates are also part of the West Springs area. To the west of the community are the small farms and acreages of Springbank in Rocky View County outside the city limits. West Springs Real Estate lies south of Old Banff Coach Road and west of 69 St SW. The neighbourhood features predominantly upscale single-family homes and multi-family development as part of a commercial mixed-use area along 85 St SW. There are plans for several high rise residential developments in this community.
Construction in this post-modern community began in 2001 as the city pushed west. Build-out continues with the addition of more commercial space and the release of new lots for residential builds. Luxury homes, townhome and condo developments can be priced into the millions, with the average 2,548 square-foot home coming in at around $900,000 and the average 1,200 square-foot condo priced under $425,000. Apartment condos in West Springs are significantly less per square foot than similar units downtown, with more space and similar amenities.
West Springs Homes exteriors feature extensive use of stucco and stone, the perfect combination for homes that lie in full view of the Rockies to the west. Native trees and those that once stood on pasture land have been preserved, now part of the fabric of West Springs. As a modern, suburban community in Calgary West, residents enjoy less commuting time with a direct link to downtown via Bow Trail. West Springs has several excellent north/south connector roads such as 69 St SW and 85 St SW that link to 17 Ave SW and further south to Glenmore Trail.

All services are available in West Springs, from medical and dental to daycare, dining and drycleaners. Aspen Landing is down the road from West Springs with more choice, more dining options and boutique shopping.
West Springs is at the back door of Winsport Canada Olympic Park with quad hockey rinks, a ski hill, tubing hill, bobsled and luge facilities and more. There’s more family recreation to be found at Westside Rec Centre on 17 Ave SW and 69 St SW, across from the LRT Station.
To meet the demand for new families in West Springs, the Calgary Board of Education recently opened West Springs School for students in kindergarten to Grade 4. Separate school students attend Joan of Arc or St. Michael (French Immersion) Catholic Elementary and Junior High Schools. There are several middle schools for public students with bus available and transit options – Vincent Massey and Bishop Pinkham. High school students attend Ernest Manning, the closest senior high school to the area, or they may also choose Central Memorial. Catholic students attend Bishop Carroll or St. Mary’s Senior High School.
West Spring is very close to many of Calgary’s finest private schools, such as Webber Academy, the Calgary International French School and Rundle College.
Mount Royal University and Ambrose University College are also located in Calgary West.
