Despite having been annexed to the city in 1961, the low-density community of Taradale was not established until 1984. Bound by the communities of Falconridge to the south, Saddle Ridge to the north and Martindale to the west, much of the land within the community remains undeveloped. Officially speaking, the community is bound to the north by Taradale Drive NE, to the south by 64 Avenue, to the east by 68 Street NE and to the west by Falconridge Boulevard NE.
For those who are interested in living in the Taradale community, the community consists primarily of single-family detached homes. While the majority of the homes are owned by their residents, approximately 10 percent of the community's housing is used for renting. Although the community does not have a community centre, it is well connected to the city's major roads. As such, residents can quickly and easily access all of the amenities and attractions the city has to offer. Furthermore, Taralake development, which is located in the north-eastern edge of the community, offers beach volleyball as well as a network of pathways for residents to enjoy.
