Located near the north edge of the city of Calgary, the residential neighborhood is considered part of the Symons Valley area. While the Symons Valley area is bounded by the city's boundary with Rocky View County to the north, Sarcee Trail to the west and Stoney Trail to the south, the community of Sage Hill is bounded by the Nolan Hill community to the west, the Evanston community to the east, the Kincora community to the south and 144 Avenue Northwest to the north. In addition to Sage Hill, Evanston, Kincora, Nolan Hill and Sage Hill, the community of Sherwood is also included in the Symons Valley residential area.
Homes within the Sage Hill community were developed by United Communities and Genesis Land Development Inc., with the latter focusing on the development of Sage Meadows and the Sage Hill Crossing Shopping Centre. With its family-friendly atmosphere, Sage Hill was designed to provide residents with access to numerous tot lots, parks, and pathways to explore the abundant greenspace.
