Once known as Sarcee Park, the community of Rutland Park was originally established in 1952. Yet, the name did not change to Rutland Park until the 1980s. Today, the community is bound to the North by Richmond Road and 33 Avenue, to the south by Glenmore Trail and 50 Avenue, to the east by Crowchild Trail and Richard Road and to the west by 37 Street. Thanks to its location, the community of Rutland Park provides its residents with easy access to a variety of recreational opportunities, including the Richmond Green Golf Course, the Southland Regional Park and the pathways.
Residents of the Rutland Park community enjoy access to the community association facilities and the many recreational opportunities the association has to offer. The facilities are capable of holding up to 138 people within the main hall and feature a commercial kitchen, a sound system and an indoor fireplace. The association also provides residents with an outdoor skating rink, a hockey rink and sports fields.
