Established in 1973, the community of Rundle is bound to the north by 32 Avenue, to the south by 16 Avenue, to the east by 52 Street and to the west by 36 Street. Situated to the southeast of the Calgary International Airport, Rundle offers a convenient location that provides residents with easy access to the LRT system as well as major roads such as the Trans Canada Highway and Barlow Trail. Once part of a treeless prairie train that was later developed along with the communities of Temple, Whitehorn and Pineridge, which were collectively referred to as the "Properties," Rundle is now a standalone community with its own community centre.
In addition to offering a convenient location, the community of Rundle provides residents with ample recreational opportunities. Not only is the regional bike pathway system located in and adjacent to the community, but the community centre is capable of holding up to 225 people within its main hall. The centre also features a standard kitchen, a lounge, a games room, meeting rooms, an outdoor barbecue and a sound system. Recreational facilities available to residents include sports fields and an outdoor skating rink, which is used for skating as well as rollerblading and basketball in the summer.
Elementary-aged children whose parents are interested in homes for sale in the Rundle community may attend the public schools of Rundle, Cecil Swanson and Mayland Heights or the Catholic schools of Holy Redeemer and St. Rupert. Both Mayland Heights and Holy Redeemer offer French Immersion programs. Junior high schools serving the community include the public schools of Dr. Gordon Higgins and Bob Edwards and the Catholic schools of St. Martha and St. Rose of Lima. Both Bob Edwards and St. Martha offer French Immersion programs. The public high school of Lester B. Pearson and the Catholic high school of Father Lacombe also serve the community, with Lester B. Pearson offering a French Immersion program. Show Less...
