Rideau Park Homes For Sale

Established in 1911, the community of Rideau Park was ultimately incorporated into one community with Roxboro in 1967. The community is unique in that it is bordered on three sides by the Elbow River, with the river serving as the official boundary to the north and to the west of the community. To the east, the boundary is formed by the escarpment, while the boundary to the south is formed by 33 Avenue and 4 Street.

Due to Rideau Park's long history and ultimate combination with Roxboro, the community features a number of homes from the early 1900s that are still in good condition. The community is also home to the Lindsay Castle, which was built by a prominent doctor in the early 1900s. The elaborate home was to be made of sandstone and to provide excellent views of the city, but only the foundation and main floor were constructed. Today, most of the homes in the area are single-family homes that offer residents with easy access to major transportation routes, the pathway system and the Downtown area. Closer to home, the community centre provides residents with tennis courts as well as an outdoor skating rink.

Children whose parents are interested in homes for sale in the Rideau Park community may attend the public elementary schools of Rideau Park and William Reid or the Catholic elementary schools of St. Monica and Holy Name. Both William Reid and Holy Name offer French Immersion programs. Junior high schools serving the Rideau Park community include Rideau Park and Elboya, with Elboya offering a French Immersion program. The Catholic junior high schools of St. Monica and St. Michael also serve the community.
