As one of the oldest communities in Calgary, the community of Richmond Park / Knob Hill was annexed in 1907 and then again in 1910. It would take another 50 years, however, before the community would be officially established. Today, the community of Richmond Park/Knob Hill is bound to the north by 17 Avenue, to the south by 33 Avenue, to the east by 19 Street and 26 Avenue and to the west by 25A Street and Richmond Road. Due to the location of the community, residents of Richmond Park / Knob Hill enjoy easy access to a variety of Calgary’s attractions. These include the pathway system, the Richmond Green golf course, the Southwest Regional Park and the Marda Loop area.
In addition to being located near to a number of Calgary’s attractions and recreational areas, the community centre serving the Richmond Park/Knob Hill community also provides residents with a variety of activities throughout the year. Some of these activities include hockey at the community hockey rink, playgroups, basketball and more. The centre itself is capable of holding up to 200 people within its main hall, which provides plenty of space for groups to meet and for community activities to take place.
Elementary-aged children whose parents are interested in homes for sale in the Richmond Park / Knob Hill community may attend the public school of Westmount Charter School or the Catholic schools of Scared Heart or Holy Name, with Holy Name offering a French Immersion program. Junior high students m ay also attend the public school of Westmount Charter School or the Catholic schools of St. Monica and St. Michael.
