Located in the Southeast quadrant of Calgary between the CN tracks, 68th Street SE and International Avenue, the residential community of Red Carpet Mountview is comprised almost entirely of trailers, with the remaining housing consisting of condos and apartments. As such, the community is one of the most affordable in the Calgary area. While the most of the area was built in the 1950s, the community was not officially established until 1972. In addition to providing an affordable option for those who are interested in living in the Calgary area, the community of Red Carpet Mountview also offers a convenient option for those who want to live near to the city of Calgary and all of the amenities it has to offer.
In addition to being located near to the city, the Red Carpet Mountview community provides residents with easy access to a number of recreational opportunities. These include Elliston Park and Elliston Lake, around which the community is built. Each year, the popular GlobalFest fireworks event takes place at the park. Residents also enjoy close proximity to Elks Golf Club, Nose Creek Park and the popular pathway system. In terms of recreational facilities found within the community, the Red Carpet-Mountview community association maintains a skating rink as well as sports fields.
Elementary-aged children whose parents are interested in homes for sale in the Red Carpet Mountview community may attend the public schools of Penbrook Meadows and Mayland Heights, with Mayland Heights offering a French Immersion program. Junior high students who live in the community may attend the public schools of Ernest Morrow and Bob Edwards, with the latter offering a French Immersion program.
