Established in 1974, the community of Pineridge located near to the communities of Whitehorn, Rundle and Temple. Collectively, the four communities were once referred to as the "Properties." Prior to the development of the area, the entire area that comprises the four communities was once a treeless prairie terrain. Today, Pineridge and its neighboring communities offer numerous homes, recreational opportunities and more for residents to enjoy. With a community centre that is capable of holding up to 400 residents within its main hall, residents also enjoy a variety of activities and events throughout the year.
Bound to the north by 32 Avenue, to the south by 16 Avenue, to the east by East Freeway and to the west by 52 Street, the area covered by the Pineridge community centre offers residents with a convenient location. In fact, Pineridge is located near to numerous employment opportunities and major transportation routes, including Barlow Trail, TransCanada Highway and Memorial Drive. The community is also part of the extensive pathway system and features the Village Square Leisure Centre.
Elementary-aged children whose parents are interested in real estate for sale in the Pineridge community may attend the public schools of Pineridge, Douglas Harkness and Mayland Heights or the Catholic schools of Holy Redeemer and St. Patrick. Both Mayland Heights and Holy Redeemer offer French Immersion programs. The Pineridge community also offers four junior high schools to select from. These include the public schools of Clarence Sanson and Bob Edwards and the Catholic schools of St. Martha and St. Rose of Lima. Both Bob Edwards and St. Martha offer French Immersion programs. The public high school of Lester B. Pearson, which offers a French Immersion program, also serves the Pineridge community.
