Established in 1959, the community of North Glenmore has a long history that dates back to the early 1900s. As the site of an early stone quarry, the community is home to many of Calgary's historical stone buildings. The community is also located near to a number of popular attractions, including Glenmore Dam, Weaselhead Park, Heritage Park, Glenmore Athletic Park and a variety of golf courses. Chinook Mall and Centennial Arena are also located nearby.

Even closer to home, the North Glenmore community features an active community association that hosts a variety of programs and groups throughout the year. These include dance, gymnastics, fencing, yoga, Pilates, karate and more.

Elementary-aged children whose parents are interested in homes for sale in the North Glenmore community may attend the public schools of Jennie Elliott or Westgate, with Westgate offering a French Immersion program. The community is also served by two Catholic elementary schools, including St. James and Holy Name, with Holy Name offering a French Immersion program. One public junior high school, Bishop Pinkham, also serves the community and offers a French Immersion program. The Catholic schools of St. James and St. Michael also serve the North Glenmore community. The public high schools of Central Memorial and Western Canada, which both offer French Immersion programs, also serve the community.
