Shortly after being annexed to the City of Calgary, the community of Meadowlark Park was founded in 1955. For those who are interested in living in the Meadowlark Park community, most of the residential developments can be found in the area to the west of 5th Street. Here, a variety of homes can be found on curvilinear streets. To the east of 5th Street, residents will find commercial developments such as Chinook Shopping Centre. The community also features community association facilities, which are capable of holding up to 110 people within the main hall. Here, residents enjoy participating in a variety of community activities throughout the year.
Elementary-aged children whose parents are interested in homes for sale in the community of Meadowland Park may attend one of three public elementary schools: Chinook Park, Elboya or William Reid. All three of the schools offer a French Immersion program. The Catholic elementary schools of St. Augustine and St. Gerard are also available to residents of the Meadowlark Park community. The public junior high school of Elboya, which offers a French Immersion program, also serves the community of Meadowlark Park. The two Catholic junior high schools serving the community include St. Augustine and Ecole St. Matthew. Public high schools serving the community include Henry Wise Wood and Western Canada, the latter of which offers a French Immersion program.
