Located in the residential of neighbourhood of Ogden, the residential district of Lynnwood/Riverglen is located in an area that is bound to the north by the CNR Tracks, to the south by Glenmore Trail and 24 Street, to the east by CPR Mainline and to the west by Bow River. As one of the oldest communities in Calgary, Ogden was established in 1912. In addition to featuring numerous historical homes and buildings, the Ogden community also offers residents access to a variety of restaurants and strip malls.
As part of the Ogden community, residents who live in the Lynnwood/Riverglen district may utilize the Ogden community centre. The centre hosts a variety of activities and events throughout the year for residents to enjoy, including Canada Day celebrations, Community Days and Winterfest, computer skills training classes and playgroups. The community also offers a number of recreational facilities, including an indoor skating rink and an outdoor swimming pool. Thanks to the numerous parks that are found throughout the area, residents of the Lynnwood/Riverglen community have plenty of recreational opportunities available to them.
Elementary-age children whose parents are interested in homes for sale in the Lynnwood/Riverglen community may attend the public schools of Sam Livingston, Sherwood and Banting and Best or the Catholic schools of St. Bernadette and St. Cecilia. Both Sam Livingston and St. Cecilia both offer French Immersion programs. Banting and Best is unique in that it serves only Kindergarten through fourth grade students, while Sherwood serves only first and sixth grade students. Junior high students who live in the Lynnwood/Riverglen community may also attend the public school of Sherwood and Fairview or the Catholic schools of St. Augustine and Ecole St. Matthew, with both Fairview and Ecole St. Matthew offering French Immersion programs.
