Situated in the northwest quadrant of Calgary, the community of Kincora is bound by 128th Avenue to the north, Stoney Trail to the south, Symons Valley Road to the east and Shaganappi Trail to the west. Established in 2002, the community got its name and its design from the story of Brian Boru, who was the legendary High King of Ireland. The Irish theme is taken even further with the community's stone entry wall, the Kincora tower, the lantern street lights and other Irish features.
In addition to enjoying the Irish theme found within the Kincora community, residents may also participate in a variety of recreational activities at the 120-acre park and Environmental Reserve found within the community. Other community features include a gazebo, play equipment and a Storm Water pond. Thanks to the walkways that run throughout the entire community, residents can easily access all that the lovely community of Kincora has to offer.
Elementary-aged children whose parents are interested in homes for sale in the Kincora community may be educated through the public schools of King George and Cambrian Heights or through the Catholic schools of St. Pius and St. Bede. Both King George and St. Pius offer French Immersion programs. Junior high students who live in the Kincora community may attend the public school of Georges P. Vanier, which offers a French Immersion program. For those who would prefer to send their children to a Catholic junior high school, both Madeleine d'Houet and St. Margaret offer Catholic school options, though neither school offers a French Immersion program. The Kincora community is also served by three high schools. These include the public high schools of James Fowler and William Aberhart and the Catholic school of Notre Dame. Of these three schools, only William Aberhart offers a French Immersion program. Show Less...
