Established in 1990, the Harvest Hills community is served by the Northern Hills Community Association. The association serves a number of communities in the area, including Country Hills, Country Hills Estates, Coventry Hills, Panorama Hills and Panorama Hill Estates. As such, the community association covers an area that is bound to the north by Stoney Trail, to the south by Beddington Trail, to the east by Deerfoot Trail and to the west by Stoney Trail. Thanks to its location, the community provides residents with easy access to a number of golf courses, a theatre and a number of restaurants and shopping facilities.

Closer to home, the Northern Hills community association provides residents with a number of recreational opportunities. Some of the facilities available through the association include 3 gymnasiums, 2 skating rinks, a climbing wall, an aquatic complex and a workout area. The association also hosts a number of groups, organizations and events throughout the year, including sports programming for local residents.

Children of parents interested in real estate in the Harvest Hills community are served by two public elementary schools, North Haven and King George. The Catholic elementary schools of Ascension of Our Lord and St. Pius also serve the community, with King George and St. Pius offering French Immersion programs. The public junior high schools of Colonel Irvine and George P. Vanier also serve the community, as do the Catholic junior high schools of Ascension of Our Lord, Madeleine d'Houet and St. Pius. St. Pius offers a French Immersion program. Public high schools serving the Harvest Hills community include John G. Diefenbaker and William Aberhart.
