Although it was first established around 2002/2003, the community of Evanston was incorporated in 2007. Bound by 144 Avenue to the north, Beddington Trail to the south, Stoney Trail to the east and Symons Valley Road to the west, the community of Evanston consists of 480 homes on 120 acres of land. As such, the community features a significant amount of grassland along with an extensive pathway system for residents to enjoy. In an effort to create a "small town feel," the community features several parks, ponds and pathways along with an extensive commercial Creekside Shopping Center.
Thanks to the convenient location of the Evanston community, residents also enjoy easy access to a number of nearby amenities. This includes a variety of golf courses, sports facilities and commercial establishments. The Evanston Creekside Community Association also hosts a number of special events throughout the year, including bringing in guest speakers. Parents who are looking for an activity for their children may be interested in looking into the outdoor community hockey program, which is operated completely by volunteers and takes place at the community's outdoor skating.
Elementary-aged children whose parents are interested in homes for sale in the Evanston community may attend the public schools of Cambrian Heights or King George, with King George offering a French Immersion program. Catholic elementary schools serving the Evanston community include St. Bede and St. Pius, with St. Pius offering a French Immersion program. The public junior high school of George P.
