20 years after being annexed by the city of Calgary, the community of Erin Woods was established in 1981. Bound to the north by CNR Line, to the south by Peigan Trail, to the east by 52 Street and to the west by CNR Line, the Erin Woods community provides its residents with easy access to the city combined with panoramic views of the Rocky Mountains. Not only can the city be easily reached via 52nd Avenue, but the community also features plenty of green space and open fields for residents to enjoy.
Even closer to home, residents of the Erin Woods community may participate in a number of activities and events that are hosted by the community association. Activities regularly offered in the community include jellybean dances, softball, indoor and outdoor soccer, adult slo-pitch, Euchre night and bingo. The association also hosts special events through the year, such as craft fairs and the Stampede Stomp. Recreational facilities maintained by the Erin Wood community association include soccer fields, a playground and baseball diamonds.
Elementary-aged children whose parents are interested in real estate in the Erin Woods community may attend the public schools of Erin Woods and Mayland Heights and the Catholic schools of Blessed Damien and Holy Redeemer. Both Mayland Heights and Holy Redeemer offer French Immersion programs. The Erin Woods community is also served by four junior high schools. These include the public schools of Ian Bazalgette and Bob Edwards and the Catholic schools of Holy Cross and St. Martha. Both Bob Edwards and St. Martha offer French Immersion programs.
