Served by the same community association as Douglasdale, the entire area is bound to the north by 114 Avenue S, to the south by 130 Avenue S, to the east by Deerfoot Trail and to the west by Bow River. The area is also home to a golf course, a small strip mall and the Foothills Industrial Area, which provides plenty of employment opportunities for people in the area.
Parents of children who are interested in homes for sale in the Douglasglen community may attend the public elementary schools of Douglasdale, R.T. Alderman and Sam Livingston or the Catholic elementary schools of Msgr. JS Smith and St. Cecilia. Both Sam Livingston and St. Cecilia offer French Immersion programs. Douglasdale is unique in that it focuses solely on Kindergarten through fourth grade students, while R.T. Alderman serves only fifth and sixth grade students. Junior high schools serving the Douglasglen community include the public schools of R.T. Alderman and Fairview and the Catholic schools of Msgr. JS Smith and Ecole St. Matthew.
