Founded in 1991, the Coventry Hills community is still relatively new to the Calgary area. Bound to the north by Stoney Trail, to the south by Beddington Trail, to the east by Deerfoot Trail and to the west by Stoney Trail, the Northern Hills community association covers a fairly expansive area that is located conveniently near to area attractions such as West Nose Creek Valley and Nose Creek Valley.

Parents of elementary-aged children who are looking for homes in the Coventry Hills community are served by the public schools of Colonel McLeod, Coventry Hills and King George, with King George offering a French Immersion program. Residents who prefer to send their children to a Catholic school may select from St. Clare or St. Pius, with the latter offering a French Immersion program. Junior high schools serving Coventry Hills include Colonel McLeod and Geoges P. Vanier, with Georges P. Vanier offering a French Immersion program. The Catholic junior high schools of Ascension of Our Lord and Madeleine D'Houet also serve the community.
