Located in the northwest quadrant of the City of Calgary, the community of Country Hills is served by the Northern Hills Community Association. The Association serves a number of communities in the area, including Coventry Hills, Harvest hills, Country Hills Estates, Panorama Hills and Panorama Hills Estates. The entire area is bound to the north by Stoney Trail, to the south by Beddington Hill, to the east by Deerfoot Trail and to the west by Stoney Trail.

As a relatively new community, Country Hills was established in 1990. Thanks to the community's location, residents enjoy easy access to a variety of golf courses, restaurants, shopping facilities and other amenities. The community association also features a number of recreational facilities, including 2 skating rinks, 3 gymnasiums, a climbing wall, an aquatic complex and a workout area. Sports programming and other activities are also sponsored by the community association.

Elementary-aged children who live in the Country Hills community on the north side of the golf course attend either the public school of Alex Munro or King George, with King George offering a French Immersion program. The public schools of Simons Valley and Highwood also serve elementary-aged children, with Highwood offering a French Immersion program. The private elementary schools of Ascension of Our Lord, Msgr. Neville Anderson and St. Pius also serve the community, with St. Pius offering a French Immersion program.

Children of those who are looking for homes for sale to the north of the golf course may attend the public junior high schools of Colonel Irvine or George P. Vanier, while those who live to the south of the golf course may attend Simon Fraser or George P. Vanier. George P. Vanier offers a French Immersion program. The Catholic schools of Ascension of Our Lord, St. Margaret and Madeleine d'Houet also serve the community. The public high school of James Fowler serves those students living north of the golf course, while those to the south are served by Queen Elizabeth.
