Briar Hill Calgary

Despite having a colorful history that dates back to as far as 1888, the community of Briar Hill was not annexed until 1906. It took even longer before the community was officially established until 1953. Once part of the Riley family homestead, which is now situated on the site of the present-day Bethany Care Centre, the Briar Hill community was originally subdivided in 1906. Today, the community of Briar Hill is bound to the north by 16 Avenue, to the south by Lane north of 7 Avenue to 19 Street and 8 Avenue, to the west by Crowchild Trail and 12 Avenue and to the east by 14 Street. Thanks to the location of the community, those looking for real estate in Briar Hill will enjoy great views of the Downtown area as well as the mountains located to the west.

Residents of the Briar Hill community enjoy an ideal location that keeps them close to many of Calgary's major institutions. Some of these include SAIT, the University of Calgary, the Jubilee Auditorium, the Alberta College of Art, the Foothills Athletic Park and the McMahon Stadium. The community is also served by a state-of-the-art community centre, which features a gymnasium and offers activities such as summer basketball, women's self-defense, martial arts, senior's badminton and indoor soccer.  Read More...
