Things to do in Calgary January 2023

There is endless amount of fun things to do in the Calgary area, especially in the winter time. Here we want to share with you some of our favorites for this coming January. You'll be able to explore new activites with being able to enjoy with family and friends.

Wanting to be warm and cozy but still enjoy the winter weather? Then East Village Hygge Hut is the place to be. The Hygge Hut is a big warm East Village hug in the middle of a long, cold Calgary winter. A contemporary, Scandinavian-style space is inspired by the Danish idea of Hygge, which means a special kind of well being. Great place to sit down with a warm drink by a fire pit and spend time with family and friends while still enjoying the Calgary outdoors.

You can find Hygge Hut on Riverwalk just east of the SImmons Building. Firepits will be lit and ready for everyone from November - March 2023, Fridays 3pm - 6pm and Saturdays and Sundays from 12pm - 6pm.

Servus Tube Park

The perfect winter activity to do with family and friends is to go tubbing at the Servus Tube Park in Calgary. Servus Tube Park is known to be one of the fastest Tube Parks in all of Calgary and has eight seperate lanes

There are a few requirements for tubing at this park such as a age limit, children must be the age of 4 and over to ride a tube. The minimum height requirement is 36 inches/92 centimetres tall, children below this height are not permitted to ride a tube. All Children under the age of 12 much be under the supervision of a parent or a legal gaurdian at all times. Servus Tube Park will open December 18th and run until January 2 for the holiday season.

Missing the sport golf while in the off season? Check out Heritage Pointe Launch Pad where you can hit the driving range while still keeping warm. At the Launch Pad there are many selections of games to play on the driving range and you are able to enjoy beverages while playing as well. Great place to get together with family and friends either during the day or for a fun night out. They also have a restaurant where you can sit and enjoy some drinks and food before or after your time at the driving range, a whole night full of fun.

The Heritage Pointe Launch Pad is open all year round and is also open every day of the week. The times they are open are from 10 am to 11 pm. You can find the Launch pad just off of Deerfoot Trail to Dunbow Road and then right onto Heritage Pointe.

One of the most iconic avenues in all of Calgary is Stephen Avenue, which also happens to be one of the most beautiful walk ways in Calgary as well. Great place to visit to get a real taste of Calgary at night and or during the day, with thousands of lights, stores for shopping and plenty of restuarants and bars as well. It also is filled with some of Calgary best sculptures and art, this is a greater piece of Calgary you dont want to miss.

Stephen Avenue is located downtown on 8 Avenue which is also known as Stephen Avenue. Walking this avenue is something you can do all year round, but in the winter with the extra christmas lights just makes it more magical of a sight.
