What is Club Pilates?

At Royal Oak Club Pilates they offer Reformer-based Pilates classes, using a modern approach to classical methods, at a price that makes membership attainable. Thousands of people are transforming their bodies and lives right now through energizing, fun, low-impact Pilates. Whether you’re young or old, no matter if you’re mostly sedentary or a more active athlete, there’s a Club Pilates workout fit for everybody.

The Club Pilates Method is not only for traditional Pilates enthusiasts. It’s for anyone looking to build strength, increase flexibility and improve range of motion. Improve your golf game, hone your tennis serve or just tone your entire body – this is a true workout in every sense of the word.

As you gain core strength, better flexibility, enhanced mind-body connection and coordination, you’ll feel the benefits ripple through your daily experience. A balanced life, with sustained energy through your whole day and feeling more capable within your own body – what could be more empowering?
The workouts are tailored to fit your individual needs by our comprehensively certified instructors. They will guide you through everything the club has to offer and make sure you feel safe and secure in your practice, even if you’ve never tried Pilates before. Not only do we offer the use of the Reformer, a Pilates apparatus utilizing spring tension and body weight for a full Pilates experience, we also offer several other props and equipment pieces including TRX, Bosu, Springboard, EXO chairs, Triggerpoint foam rollers and more! We offer over 7 different class styles in 4 different levels, so the workouts are never boring!

In addition to our small group classes, Royal Oak Club Pilates also offers Private Training. This is great if you’ve never tried Pilates before or are looking for a more intimate experience. It is also a great benefit if you’d like to enhance your practice and really work towards your individualized fitness goals. Clients new to Pilates come from a myriad of movement backgrounds, including but not limited to: dance, gymnastics, weightlifting, yoga, boxing, surfing, tennis, football, basketball, golf – anything you can imagine! It’s typical that any client new to Pilates will be unaccustomed to purposeful mind-body connection no matter their prior fitness background. Physical fitness is not a determining factor in mind-body awareness, thus private training might be a valuable option to try. Many clients new to Pilates may be completely unaccustomed to slowing down the body in order to connect the mind and perform a conscious movement. Don’t be scared to try something new – we’ll support you every step of the way!

One of the major concentrations of Pilates is balance with the support of good stability. This is crucial in preventing injuries and in aiding recovery. Without incorporating these fundamentals, injuries are right around the corner. In order to get the strength and tone that is ultimately desired, exercises stretch, and everyday motions are worked through with the correct muscle balance. When the body is balanced, working out becomes easier and goals are obtained more quickly. Strengthening your deeper muscles along with your smaller supporting muscles improves posture and creates a more efficient workout. There are many people suffering from injuries or conditions that make moving difficult. Pilates caters to these needs and allows a person to work out without creating further stress to imbalances.

Allowing everyone to customize their workout to their own level and desired goals are simply what Pilates does. Doesn’t supply an atmosphere where gaining strength and length all while relieving unwarranted pain sound like an amazing ultimate goal?

As Joseph Pilates said, “You will feel better in ten sessions, look better in twenty sessions, and have a completely new body in thirty sessions.”
